How to pick a color from an image

  1. Drop your image into the box above, or click to browse.
  2. Move over the image — the loupe magnifies the area so you can land on the exact pixel.
  3. Click or tap to lock the color, then copy it as HEX, RGB or HSL.

Get the exact color from any image

Whether you're matching a brand color from a logo, lifting a shade out of a screenshot, or rebuilding a palette from a reference photo, this picker reads the true pixel value. Because the image is sampled at its full resolution rather than from the scaled-down preview, the HEX you copy is the color that's actually there — no guesswork, no eyedropper drift.

HEX, RGB and HSL — copy the format you need

Every pick gives you all three at once. HEX drops straight into CSS or a design tool. RGB is what most image editors and code expect. HSL makes it easy to tweak — bump the lightness for a hover state, or drop the saturation for a muted version. One tap copies the value to your clipboard.

Built for phones too

On a touch screen your finger hides the very pixel you're aiming for. So a zoom loupe floats above your fingertip, showing the magnified area and a crosshair on the exact sample point. Drag to fine-tune, lift to lock it in. Picking a precise color on mobile finally feels accurate.

Private by design

The picker runs entirely on your device. Your image is never uploaded, so nothing is stored or seen by anyone — and it works just as well offline. No account, no watermark, no limits.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get the color code from an image?
Drop the image in, then move your cursor (or finger) over the spot you want. The zoom loupe shows the exact pixel, and the HEX, RGB and HSL codes update live. Click or tap to lock a color, then copy whichever format you need.
What's the difference between HEX, RGB and HSL?
They describe the same color three ways. HEX (#1D9E75) is the compact form used in CSS and design tools. RGB (rgb(29, 158, 117)) lists the red, green and blue channels. HSL (hsl(157, 69%, 37%)) uses hue, saturation and lightness, which is handy when you want to nudge a shade lighter or more vivid.
Is the picked color the real pixel or the on-screen preview?
The real pixel. The image is read at its full, natural resolution behind the scenes, so the value you copy is the true color of that pixel — not a sample of the shrunk preview, which could be slightly off.
Can I pick a color accurately on my phone?
Yes. Your finger covers the spot, so a zoom loupe floats just above it showing the magnified pixel and a crosshair. Drag to fine-tune, lift to lock the color, then copy.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The image is read entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server, stored, or seen by anyone.
